Millicent Pharma Invests Millions in Larne Manufacturing Expansion, Creating 20 Jobs in UK

Recruitment is actively underway at Millicent Pharma's Larne facility, with job postings published in early October as the specialty pharmaceutical company seeks to fill more than 20 new positions.

The hiring drive forms part of a multimillion-dollar investment in the site that will raise the local workforce from 50 to 70 employees.

Expansion of Workforce and Investment in Manufacturing Capabilities

The new roles span a range of functions, including technicians, managers, supervisors, engineers, and quality assurance specialists. Capital investment has already commenced and will continue over the next few years, supporting automation and productivity improvements at Larne.

According to the company, the strengthening of manufacturing capabilities and innovation will enable it to respond to growing demand for its products.

Leadership Points to Seven Years in the Local Economy

Ryan Loughlin, Senior Vice-President of Millicent Pharma, said the company was delighted to announce its expansion plans in Larne.

Millicent Pharma is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures, and sells branded women's health therapies, including contraception and hormone replacement therapy. Its operations span manufacturing, research and development, and corporate functions across the UK, Ireland, the US, and Puerto Rico.

Established in 2018 with financial backing from the Carlyle Group and its founders, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Larne and Puerto Rico, alongside corporate offices in Dundalk, Ireland, and New Jersey, USA. Invest Northern Ireland has previously supported the company's growth in the region.

The Larne site serves as both a manufacturing base and a dedicated R&D Centre of Excellence, playing an important role in the region's life sciences and pharmaceutical sector.
